Silver Travel Advisor is an award-winning travel reviews, information and advice website, especially for mature travellers aged over 50. As our name suggests, we offer our members and visitors a vast range of relevant and interesting information, as well as holiday discounts through our Silver Travel Club (it’s free to join) and advice when you ask for personal suggestions from our Travel Advisors, many of whom are retired travel professionals and all of whom have a real passion for travel. Their knowledge and experience span the globe and add up to many hundreds of years in the industry. We work with a handpicked selection of partner companies to bring you best choices and recommendations for mature travellers, companies who offer a service that is aimed at providing great holidays for the over 50s. Each month we offer you the opportunity to join in our free prize draw for holidays in the UK and abroad, as well as frequent light-hearted competitions. Twice a year we produce The Silver Traveller, a free magazine full of articles about locations around the world from travel writers, silver travellers just like you and celebrity contributors, which also highlights our recommended partner companies who provide the best in mature travel and holidays for seniors. Throughout the year we attend exhibitions and travel shows, so you can meet us for a really in-depth discussion. And our team look forward to meeting you on the Silver Travel stand at the Life is for Living Show at Sandown Park on May 16th & 17th 2020.
5. If you are taking a cruise, have a look to see what excursions are offered and how long the ship remains in specific ports. There might be possibilities to visit places you’ve never considered if there’s an overnight stay in port. Also ask yourself about the size of ship you’ll be comfortable on, small or large? Do you enjoy a more intimate experience or are the speciality restaurants, evening entertainment and onboard facilities important to you? What activities are available on sea days?
10. Remember to leave a copy of your passport and insurance documents with a friend, and take a photo of them on your phone too. Pack any medication you need (some in your hand baggage making sure that you do not exceed the 100ml for liquids if you are flying), turn off the gas, lock the front door ……..and have a fabulous time.
For reviews, information and travel companies, just type what you’re looking for into the search box (top right) on our home page, and all will be revealed!
